The 50th birthday celebration
When my husband asked what I wanted to do for my 50th birthday, I replied that I would like to have dinner in Paris!! Gary helped us turn a great idea into a wonderful reality. Combining his intimate knowledge of Paris with our desire to see everything, he created the perfect birthday week. He designed walking tours that included historical as well as charming highlights of Paris. Our daytrip to the Champagne region included time to tour the cathedral and the town of Reims along with an introduction to the wonderful world of Bubbly. Gary consistently made restaurant suggestions that were always on the mark for what we wanted. And for my birthday dinner he arranged for our party of 10 a private room in a star-rated restaurant where we feasted like royalty.

“More than a guide, a reason to visit”
When I won a trip for two anywhere in the world on American Airlines I chose to take my 13-year-old daughter to Paris for 3 days. So I contacted “the guy who wrote the book on Paris!” for a tour. That turned out to be the best prize of all! We told Gary that we were more into sports and photography than museums and history and he got us some bikes and led us on an amazing tour of the sites on two wheels, with photo ops galore. He also arranged a waterside picnic one beautiful evening. When we mentioned that we didn’t care for the room we were given, he helped us get a room upgrade at no extra cost. Gary is far more than a guide, he’s a reason to visit!

“Priceless!”
Bonjour Gary,
So many times while we were in Ireland after Paris and then back home did we remark how without you we would have never been able to seen a millionth of what we did. The background and historical presentation of the evolution of the city and its culture was priceless! Not to speak of your rescuing us from the clutches of the hotel manager!… We all know how empty our visit would have been without you. You were so calm dealing with our mixture of personalities and variety of wants….You made quite an impression…. We will return.
A bientôt et merci!

“Definite thumbs up!”
Hi Gary,
I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know what a wonderful time we had touring Paris with you. Thank you for sharing your knowledge of that beautiful city, and for being so generous with your time and energy. The kids in particular wanted me to let you know how much they enjoyed the tours. Since children tend to be the toughest critics of all, I thought you might appreciate their definitive thumbs up!

Grandparenting abroad
Nothing gives me more pleasure than reliving the wonderful 10 days I had with my 13 year old granddaughter Isabella and Gary Kraut our guide in Paris. Gary made the trip so memorable with his incredible knowledge and his ability to fashion the trip around my granddaughter’s interests and to captivate her with activities and wonderful stories that made history come alive. We had an incredible time. Gary makes it fun to experience a different culture. We learned a lot, laughed a lot and came away with unforgettable memories all due for the most part because of this wonderful charming man. You could not find a more competent guide and if you are lucky enough to spend time with him you will remember your trip and your guide forever.

“Memories for a lifetime”
Dear Gary,
The trips to Paris that you planned for us and our teen-age grandchildren on two different occasions created memories for a lifetime. You caringly designed each trip according to the personality of that child (boy/girl). Although we grandparents had been to Paris several times before, we never could have introduced our grandchildren to the history and passion of Paris the way that you did. When you started our walks on the Ile de Cite and developed the origins and sights of Paris from that ancient spot, your knowledge and love of this city were evident.
Thank you for leading us through unknown city streets and neighborhoods, sights, out-of-the-way delicious restaurants, and, of course the daytrips.
We appreciate that you made these tours so memorable and happy. We will be glad to return with you…anytime!!!

“The best meal and most informative evening”
Gary guided us through the magic of Paris by blending historical context with the human stories that created it and by showing us contemporary life through diverse neighborhoods. One of the highlights of our time with Gary was his “Market, Wine & Dine Tour” with surprise tastings of fine organic wines and a wonderful encounter with “bistronomy,” the best meal and most informative evening we had in Paris.

“More than we had ever expected.”
We just wanted to take a minute to thank you so much for making our trip to Paris more than we had ever expected it could be. It is not the first time we have taken a brief 3-day trip to Europe, but it is the first time we have seen so much, eaten so well, been so well received by restaurant and hotel staff, and gotten such comprehensive and knowledgeable answers to all our history and geography questions. Not an evening went by where we all didn’t feel completely Parisian! It was wonderful meeting you. If… rather, WHEN… we return to Paris we will most definitely seek your expertise again.
Our greatest thanks,
Kevin, Union, NJ
“We loved it all”
Dear Gary,
We had a wonderful trip and I am very appreciative of all your time and work. Reading your work already got us in the right frame of mind, but once in Paris you brought it all amazingly to life for us. And Normandy!! It is such a moving place and really is an education. It was indeed a great idea to spend two days there so as to take the fuller and more leisurely approach. I have a new appreciation for everything after seeing the land and beaches, the American Cemetery, the towns and churches and museums. You planned everything so well. Without you, there is no way anyone could begin to accomplish in a week what we did. Thank you. We loved it all. It was a GREAT vacation.
Thank you so very much.

“Like a favorite restaurant that you don’t want the whole world to know about.”
Gary Lee Kraut is like a favorite restaurant that you don’t want the whole world to know about. I just hope that he’ll have time for us the next time we’re in France. I know you like to say that you’re just the facilitator and that the real magic is Paris itself, but on our last day in Paris my husband bought me the most fabulous ring and I think some of that has to do with your magic. Mille mercis!

“Extraordinary”
There is no question in our minds that our two days with you were extraordinary. Our visit would have been very limited (aka myopic?) without you. You put Paris in a wonderful perspective and enriched our experience by three-fold.

“You taught me how to travel.”
Gary,
Loved the Walk of Wonder Tour. What a great concept! I thought personalized was just a marketing term until 30 minutes into our walk when I realized…. I’m nearly embarrassed to admit at my age that you taught me how to travel.

“Personal, distinctive, and soul-satisfying.”
Each of my trips to Paris has been fantastic, but having toured with Gary Lee Kraut I can honestly say that there’s no better way to experience Paris from the inside. My tour was personal, distinctive, and soul-satisfying. Gary provides personal attention along with intimate knowledge and a true love of the place. New delights and new views were always highlighted with good food, interesting historical tidbits, and excellent conversation. Gary’s appreciation for the romantic and the sensual will win favor with any discerning traveler.

Normandy
Daughter of a Normandy veteran
My father had landed on D-Day plus 4 (June 10, 1944) on Omaha Beach. Dad completed a year of combat operating a 105 Howitzer through France, Belgium and Germany with the 79th Division. My father returned to Normandy with my mother for the 40th anniversary in 1984, and again with my mom, husband, and I for the 50th anniversary in 1994. In June of 2017, my husband and I took our 22 year old son to Normandy so that he could visualize what the Americans (including his grandfather) had done for France in 1944. We wanted to make the experience really special so we hired Gary Lee Kraut of FranceRevisted.com. He did a fabulous job as our tour guide for a day in Normandy and outlined an itinerary that we would follow for a second day on our own. Our time with Gary was one of the best decisions we made on our trip to France, Belgium and The Netherlands. I would recommend his touring advice and expertise to anyone interested in getting beyond the surface in France.

The bucket list
As we planned our “bucket list” trip to Normandy, Versailles, and Paris, we initially contacted Gary to help us with the itinerary but soon realized that that we would be best served by his knowledge by asking him to accompany us. Gary’s historical and cultural knowledge about France is matched only by his skills of storytelling that that brought sights to life. By the time we left we had learned more, seen more, and enjoyed ourselves more than any trip we have taken. As much as we enjoy his travel writing from home, we highly recommend his personal assistance in France.

Keeping the stress level low
Hi Gary,
I just wanted to thank you so much for ALL of your help. Your attention to detail and willingness to answer all of my questions were much appreciated. Also, your suggestions and giving me many optional plans were much appreciated. With your help I was able to work out a trip that we will remember for years to come. Also, I was so appreciative of you meeting us and helping us get to the correct train and telling us what we needed to do with our tickets, etc. It was nice to have a low stress level on a trip, for a change. :))
